The principal purpose of this position is to execute accounting and financial reporting processes to support preparation of Red Lobster’s consolidated financial statements in accordance with the provisions of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, as well as ensuring compliance with the requisite internal controls designed and stated in the Company’s Section 404 Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) documentation. The position also provides information to support Operations and overall Corporate planning and estimating process, in addition to ad hoc analysis to support the Company’s strategic decisions. The position will be utilized to develop emerging leaders for the accounting and finance areas throughout the organization.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the Company's accounting processes and overall internal control over financial reporting, including:
- Manage/assist in processes such as risk management accounting, group insurance accruals, 401K, Def. Compensation, Escheatment, benefits, etc.
- Lead/assist the benefit plan audits and monthly and quarterly lender compliance reporting
- Prepare tie-out workpapers for year-end audit as well as coordinate and provide support to third-party external auditors.
- Review direct reports’ journal entries and reconciliations
- Document/update process and procedures
- Document/update accounting policies
- Perform ad hoc analysis as requested
- Supervise/manage direct reports
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Minimum 3 years public accounting, consulting, or corporate accounting experience
- Strong project management skills
- Experience with technical accounting and reporting a plus
- Experience with SOX 404 a plus
- Retail or restaurant industry experience a plus
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s and/or Masters in Accounting
- Current CPA, is a plus

- Strong documentation and executive report writing/presentation skills
- Critical thinking capacity, with the ability to think high-level yet execute at the detail level
- Demonstrated self-starter with strong organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and manage competing priorities, with the flexibility to work on a variety of activities that span across many departments

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Ability to research technical accounting literature and document accounting positions
- Knowledge of restaurant industry a plus
- MBA a plus
